THE MOST POWERFUL IMMUNE TOOL for AQUACULTURE WAS BEING POURED DOWN THE DRAIN.

Yeast has been priming immune systems for millennia.

Rich in beta-glucans and bioactive compounds, it is one of nature's most effective immune stimulants. Breweries generate millions of tonnes of it every year and most of it goes to waste.

Biosby was founded to change that.

Our origin

Biosby all started with a palatability problem.

During early vaccine research, we noticed that juvenile shrimp were reluctant to consume certain formulations, but we knew they would eat yeast. That small observation opened a much bigger question: what if yeast wasn't just a delivery vehicle, but a powerful biological tool in its own right?

The answer came unexpectedly, during an experimental beer trial. We realised that tank after tank of spent yeast, biologically rich and nutritionally dense, was being discarded. A by-product so overlooked it wasn't even considered waste by brewers.

We took some of this waste, looked under the microscope, and what we found stopped us in our tracks, the microbial diversity was extraordinary. The probiotic potential was immediately obvious.

Breweries have been sitting on one of nature's most effective immune stimulants all along. Biosby was founded to put it to work, with big dreams of protecting the fastest growing food sector with one simple cell.

BUILT ON WASTE. BACKED BY EXPERTISE.

Charlotte Bilsby, PhD

Founder

Charlotte is a microbiologist and the inventor of Biosby's yeast-based delivery platform. With a PhD in Microbiology and hands-on expertise in recombinant DNA, microbial engineering and yeast-based systems, her background spans applied microbiology, biological recycling and fermentation science

It was this unusual combination of disciplines that led to Biosby's founding insight: that brewery waste yeast, overlooked and discarded by an entire industry, had extraordinary potential as a biological immune tool for aquaculture.

TWO PRODUCTS. ONE PLATFORM. ONE VISION.

Phase 1 gets us to market fast, a feed-grade yeast probiotic born from brewers waste with no regulatory hurdles, generating revenue and real-world validation from 2026.

Phase 2 is where the platform becomes truly powerful. Engineered yeast delivering targeted biological protection through the same feed system.

One builds the foundation. The other changes the industry.
